New Ribblehead Visitor Centre and exhibition opens

The exhibition describes the building of Ribblehead Viaduct and Blea Moor tunnel and what life was like for the workers and their families.


New Tramper Provides Access for All to Ingleborough Cave

An all-terrain powered wheelchair is opening up the foothills of Ingleborough, including the UK’s only fully wheelchair accessible showcave, to people who have difficulty walking.

New Tramper Provides Access for All to Ingleborough Cave

The chair, known as a tramper, is available free of charge by pre-arrangement from the entrance to the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail in Clapham, the gateway to some of the Yorkshire Dales National Park’s finest limestone scenery.

Countryside Days - Schools Out

Mid-June saw two hectic but successful Countryside Days at Harrogate, a partnership event with Dales Countryside Museum. Thousands of school children from across Yorkshire and beyond converged on the Great Yorkshire Showground to enjoy an action-packed day of fun and education at the annual Countryside Days. Schools Out ran five workshops of hands-on living history activities each day and received very positive feedback. This event provides opportunities to engage harder-to-reach schools from further afield, as well as good networking opportunities. We will be back next year and we might even dress up!

One Reserve - 5000 years of human history

A grant was secured to create three walk leaflets highlighting archaeology and historical features around the Ingleborough National Nature Reserve and produce a phone app. The walk leaflets were so popular we've recently funded a reprint!
