A one day course that will introduce you to the traditional skill of coppicing and use of materials.
Hedgelaying is an ancient traditional countryside craft with many different regional styles. It involves partially cutting through the stems, laying them over and weaving them together to produce a thick living barrier which subsequently regrows from the base.
The Overground Underground Festival is being part-funded through Stories in Stone, an ambitious scheme of conservation and community projects concentrated on the Ingleborough area. The scheme has been developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership, led by Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, and is mainly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. http://www.ogug.co.uk
