Wildflower Propagation

About the tutor

Rachel of Broadrake Bunkbarn has been managing an area of rank grassland since 2012 on their site in the Yorkshire Dales, to restore it to an upland hay meadow. She is keen to share methods they have followed with managers and owners of other potential meadow & smaller wildflower sites, to increase botanical opportunities for our important pollinators.

You can find out more about Broadrake Bunkbarn and their website www.broadrake.co.uk

About the course

Local provenance seed collecting, sowing and other propagation methods have all been successfully employed at Broadrake to improve an upland hay meadow. In this video, these different stages are outlined, including seed collection, sowing, potting on, cuttings, planting out and meadow management.

Please view Rachel's guidance handout - Wildflower propagation.
