Hay Meadow Flora

About the tutor

Sarah has been involved in environmental training since she started working for ADAS in 1994. As the YDMT Hay Time officer covering the Forest of Bowland AONB from 2012 to 2018, Sarah has worked closely with farmers and landowners across the AONB area working on meadow restoration. Every summer since 2012 she has also delivered training and guided walks focusing on upland meadows and local wildflowers.

About the course

This film offers an introduction to the different wildflowers and grasses that you may typically find in an upland hay meadow, tips on how to identify them and background about how meadows have developed over time. Set in the upper Hodder valley in the Forest of Bowland, the film will also be an opportunity to explore the species-rich wildflower meadows found there, and maybe experience a little bit of their magic.
